At ISW, we don’t do big, impersonal Open Houses. We do admissions like we do everything else—one student at a time. We are currently offering tours for families after an initial phone conversation for the 2024-25 school year. We are delighted to welcome you to ISW!
If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact us via our web form www.iswva.org/contact/ or call us at 540-877-5552.
We are currently accepting applications for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Our admissions committee looks for capable, enthusiastic, college-bound students who are academically, socially, and emotionally prepared to handle the challenges of a progressive, college preparatory environment. Successful applicants will exemplify our Core Values: respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, and commitment to education.
- A phone interview with the Head of School
- A building tour with the Head of School
- Application (application form, 2 teacher recommendations, records, if available, from preschool, and the $50 application fee) submitted
Those students will be invited for a classroom visit. ISW will notify families as soon as possible after completing the classroom visit. If there are any seats still available, we will accept applications on a rolling basis.
Applicants for grades 1 through 12 will follow a similar process.
A complete application (forms below) includes:
- A completed application form
- Official transcripts from all previous schools
- Copies of all standardized testing and educational evaluations
- Recommendations from three teachers (two for Kindergarten applicants)
- A parent admissions conversation with the Head of School
- A student visit with relevant faculty
- A (one-time) application fee of $50
